BIOI was born in 1964 under the sign of Cancer in the great state of Wisconsin. At the tender age of two, I began my formative years becoming a southern gentleman with travels and life experiences in North Carolina, West Virginia and Georgia. I graduated from Marshall University (GO HERD!) with a BBA in Business Management (1987), accompanied by an MBA in Business Administration (1989). Upon graduation, I moved to Atlanta to start a new chapter in my life and ultimately began a career in telecommunications. In 1999, I moved to Los Angeles to explore life anew with my then partner and found myself applying my client relationship and vendor relationship skills from telecommunications on the fringes of the entertainment industry supporting film and television post production. Many changes have ensued over the past 10 years in the land of dreams but I have managed to keep in good shape and at the age of 45, I must say that working out and keeping fit has kept me sane and moving forward. Everyone has periods in there life when his/her motivation to maintain an exercise program seems impossible but my experience has helped me learn that this is something that I always come back to and, I truly believe, saved me from deep depression over certain challenges. Exercise continues to lift me up and it helps me stay on track with my life, career and passions! In 2002, after a layoff from my pseudo entertainment industry job, I found myself exploring questions about my life and began to contemplate my dreams and truly understand what really made me happy. I used this inspiration to find the best work to support myself and to build new goals for my life. I was entertaining the idea that my next employer might be, well...ME...and the magic of the universe allowed this to happen. Now I contribute my passion, skills and expertise in the Personal Fitness Industry. Being an avid weight trainer for 20+ years now, I have a strong knowledge of fitness training and working out. I began weight training as a way to keep in shape with no particular inclination to move into a career in fitness. However, people constantly approached me in the gym to ask questions about what they could do for certain body parts or why I was performing a certain exercise in a particular way. I decided to take a bit more serious approach and the next thing I knew my strength and musculature began to grow. Initially, I weighed in at 140 pounds (1986), but by the time I became more serious (1996), my weight had increased to 150. Now, my optimal weight is about 174. At 5' 4 1/2" that’s pretty stocky. So in January of this year I decided to take the plunge and do my first bodybuilding competition. I trained for six months and on July 18th, 2009 competed in the 2009 GNC LA Bodybuilding Championships placing 1st in my weight class in the Men's Novice Group, 5th Overall in the Men’s Masters over 40 Group and 9th overall in the Men’s Open Middleweight Group. Riding the success of this performance, the bug has bitten and I will begin training for the Orange County Classic in 2010 starting October of this year. I have studied many topics about weight training, nutrition and body sculpting over the years. I have also experimented with various routines and nutritional supplements to find the optimal combination for my body. Although my experience is mainly self-taught, I have had great instructors along the way, who have helped me build a solid foundation of services using the most effective methodologies that will consistently provide you with positive results. My goal is to help you enjoy a more active, happier and healthier life! If you seek a safe, intense, motivational, personal, lifestyle-centered, and effective (S.I.M.P.L.E.SM) physical training program I encourage you to read more about my training philosophy, spiritual beliefs and other key areas that will help you be all that you can be!
